This week in comedy, Dave Chappelle is dropping what is presumably his final special for Netflix. In the trailer for his new special, The Closer, Chappelle even manages to bring things full circle by having Morgan Freeman, who narrated a sketch his first Netflix special, on hand to narrate the trailer for last one. And while it hasn’t been officially confirmed that there won’t be another one, Freeman mentioning bringing an end to a “body of work” is as good of an indication as any. And while we would love to keep seeing new Chappelle specials every year until the end of time, we also can’t wait to see where he goes next!
Also this week, Amber Ruffin is back on Peacock for a second season of The Amber Ruffin Show. The weekly late night show debuted last year, and proved popular enough that NBC tried the show out during off-weeks of Late Night w/Seth Meyers and in the time slot A Little Late w/Lilly Singh had. And while the show isn’t moving to the network for good just yet, it does have a studio audience now for the first time ever.
