This Week in Comedy: “F is For Family” is back for season four

This week in comedy: The Murphy’s are back. Netflix’s hit animated series, F is for Family, created by Bill Burr, is back for season four. This season, with a new baby on the way, we see Frank reunite with his father. This, naturally, brings up all the past feelings and resentment for his dad, who it appears has softened in older age. Jonathan Banks joins the cast for this season as Big Bill.
Also this week, Jo Koy is In His Elements with his new stand-up special. This special finds him traveling to the Philippines to give the audience a glimpse into his heritage. Plus, he’s brought along with him some friends, a D.J., and some break dancers to turn this into a comedy variety show that is embedded in authentic Philippines culture.
Plus, Pete Davidson and Judd Apatow’s long-awaited The King of Staten Island hits VOD. The long awaited film, which follows Pete’s character trying to still deal with his firefighter father’s death well into his 20’s, was originally supposed to be one of the bigger summer movies. With the pandemic, however, Universal decided to roll it out this way as opposed to pushing it back further. The film is written by Apatow, Dave Sirus, and Davidson, being based on elements from Davidson’s life.
