This week in comedy: “High Fidelity” the series premieres on Hulu
February 10, 2020 Andrew Buss News, Television, This Week In Comedy
This week in comedy: We all remember the film from 2000, based off of the very successful book, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. In the film, John Cusack plays Rob, a music obsessed record shop owner going through a bad break up, reflecting back on the past with his five worst break ups.
Now, 20 years later, High Fidelity is back. This time as a series for Hulu that finds Rob (now played by Zoë Kravitz, whose mom Lisa Bonet also starred in the film), sharing the same struggles Cusack’s character had in the original, only in a modern age.
Also this week in comedy: The new film, Downhill, opens in theaters. Starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the film is an adaptation of the Swedish film Force Majeure, which finds a family escaping an avalanche, with the husband turning his back on his wife and kids. Everyone’s fine, and the result is nothing short of hilarious awkwardness.
