This Week in Comedy: Kyle Mooney is giving fans of 80’s/90’s nostalgia and weekend cartoons what they’ve been waiting for in Saturday Morning All Star Hits!. The series follows the career of twins Saturday morning TV hosts Skip and Treybor, both played by Mooney. The new series, which is produced by Lorne Michaels, premieres Friday.
Also this week, Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel are teaming up to produce a third installment of the special Live in Front of a Studio Audience. The special casts modern celebrities in classic Lear sitcoms Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life. This year’s all star cast includew Kevin Hart, Damon Wayans, Jon Stewart, Jennifer Anniston, John Lithgow, Kathryn Hahn, and more.
Plus, the long rumored Sex and the City reunion series is finally heading to HBO Max. The new series, titled And Just Like That…, reunites Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. The fourth star of the original series, Kim Cattrall, opted not to participate due to creative differences with Parker.
And finally, Comedy Central is debuting their second holiday comedy film of the season, Hot Mess Holiday. This film features what happens “when an overachieving young finance exec is unceremoniously dumped by her cheating fiancé during the Diwali holidays, her free-spirited bestie is determined to help her get lit. Along with their outrageous crew, they embark on a wild holiday adventure to party across Chicago, but when they come into possession of a multi-million dollar diamond, their messy antics place their entire posse in danger.”
