This week in comedy Pete Holmes returns to TV with his first starring sitcom on a major network. How We Roll (formerly titled Smallwood), sees Holmes playing professional bowler Tom Smallwood. In a series loosely based on his life as a man who lost his job so he decided to follow his dream of becoming a professional bowler The show was written by Mark Gross and co-stars Chi McBride, Malcom Barrett, and Katie Lowes and premieres this Thursday on CBS.
Additionally, after staying relevantly quiet on the stand-up front the last couple of years, Jerrod Carmichael is ready to drop his new stand-up comedy special on the world. This Friday, tune into HBO to watch Rothaniel which will be the follow-up to Carmichael’s exquisite 2017 special, 8. Like with that special, Rothaniel was directed by Carmichael’s frequent collaborator and fellow comedian, Bo Burnham.
