This week in comedy: get ready to relive more 80’s/90’s nostalgia when the awaited Saved By The Bell reboot hits Peacock. The reboot – which is actually the second if you count The New Class – follows the modern day Bayside High, and it’s a lot more tongue-in-cheek and self aware than we remember. Plus, A.C. Slater and Jessie Spanish are now teaching at Bayside, while Zack Morris is the Governor of California (because why not??). The Saved By The Bell reboot hits Peacock on Wednesday.
Also this week, Jeff Dunham is back on Comedy Central for a brand new special. The special, which is titled Jeff Dunham’s Completely Unrehearsed Last-Minute Pandemic Holiday Special, is the first of his three special deal and was put together without having performed any of the material onstage prior. The special airs on Friday at 8pm ET.
Plus, Happiest Season puts a twist on the premise of bringing home your significant other for the holiday. The film follows a same-sex couple (Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis) announcing their engagement over the holidays to Davis’s family who doesn’t know she’s gay. Rounding out the cast is Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, Mary Steenburgen, and Victor Garber.
And finally, The F Spot with Derrick Beckles is coming to Adult Swim. The series finds Beckles, best note for his work on The Eric Andre Show and as the host of Mostly 4 Millennials, as the head of a focus group. As you can imagine, the reality comedy series then takes a turn for the totally weird and unpredictable. The F Spot with Derrick Beckles airs Thursday at 12:30 A.M. ET on Adult Swim.
