This Week In Comedy: “That Damn Michael Che” comes to HBO Max

This Week In Comedy: This season of SNL has seen multiple cast members pulling double duty by somehow managing to juggle the show and a completely different project simultaneously. Michael Che is the latest to join that group with his new HBO Max show, That Damn Michael Che. The show uses sketches to “illustrate what it feels like to experience various every-day situations including racial profiling, unemployment, falling in love and more, from Michael’s perspective.”

Also this week, Girls5Eva debuts on Peacock. The show, stars Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, Ashley Park, Sara Bareilles, and Renée Elise Goldsberry, follows a short-lived 90’s pop-group that decides to reunite to give it a go one final time. The series is produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, and was created by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt writer Meredith Scardino.

Plus, Crank Yankers is coming back for a season 6. The show, which uses puppets to illustrate real prank phone calls made by celebrities, was also brought back in 2019, and did well enough a second time around to warrant a second season. Celebrities this time include Kathy Griffin, Bobby Moynihan, Adam Carolla, Paul Scheer, Iliza Shlesinger, Chelsea Peretti, Punkie Johnson, Kevin Nealon, Desus & Mero, JB Smoove, Sam Jay, Annie Murphy, Wanda Sykes, Tiffany Haddish, Natasha Leggero, and many more.

And finally, Tiffany Haddish is bringing back Kids Say The Darndest Things for a season two. Originally, season one of the revival series had aired from October 2019 until January 2020 on ABC, with a second season in the works. However, after ABC cancelled the series, CBS picked it up, and a second season was produced over there. Kids Say The Darndest Things airs on CBS Tuesday.
