Daniel Tosh, Adam Carolla, and Demetri Martin are all planning on coloring their exploits in pen and ink, for the three comedians have some some animated life in their futures.
The Tosh/Comedy Central relationship is deepening as the network ordered his new animated series Brickleberry which will be executive produced by Tosh, who is one of their hot commodities right now with the wildly successful Tosh.0. Brickelberry will follow a group of dysfunctional forest rangers in a national park in which Tosh will voice a character and is set for release in early 2012.
Carolla and Martin are teaming up with FOX for their new animated adventures. The network has its troubles with live-action comedies but their track record for animation is unmatched. Playing home to some of the most influential animated series of all time.
Carolla is teaming up with former King of the Hill executive producers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky to create The Birchums, an animated series based on the character Carolla portrayed on the air during both his KROQ radio and Crank Yankers days. Carolla will voice Birchum which will be a welcome return to him providing vocal duties since it’s been a few years since he did so as in the terrific Spanky Ham in Drawn Together.
Demetri Martin is also working with FOX to voice the lead character/executive produce a new animated series centered around a family living in the Pacific Northwest. Martin has been pretty busy since Important Things With Demetri Martin ended by releasing a book. He’s also pretty used to a pen and paper, often using animation in his act and small bits of animation were used in episodes of Important Things.
There’s no word on when Martin or Carolla’s shows will premiere but since animation takes a while, it’s not surprising if they came midseason or Fall 2012.
