It appears it’s one and done for USA Network’s comedy Benched. Despite the network stressing it’s commitment to the show alongside Playing House and Sirens, which have both been picked up for a second season, they ultimately passed on bringing it back. The show averaged 800,000 viewers. The stars of the show, Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings, House of Lies) and Jay Harrington (Hot In Cleveland, Better Off Ted) both have projects in post-production scheduled for a 2015 release. It’s Us and Hey Brother respectively. Like Benched, Playing House had pretty low Live+SD ratings but had a sizable DVR push and spiked in VOD viewing, which lead to the show’s return in a different business model where episodes premiere on VOD.
