The “Vacation” franchise to be rebooted with Ed Helms

March 7, 2012      Matt      Ed Helms, Movies, News

Lindsay Buckingham is primed and ready to move some units of “Holiday Road” because a new Vacation movie is on the way. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein the men behind Horrible Bosses are writing and directing the reboot/sequel that will now follow Clark Griswold’s now grown-up son, Rusty as he attempts to take his own family on a Griswold family vacation.

The word on the street is the frontrunner to portray an adult Rusty is Ed Helms which would make him the 5th character to play the Griswold son, after all he was previously played by Anthony Michael Hall, Jason Lively, Johnny Galeki, and Ethan Embry.

The plans aren’t to make the reboot small as New Line is behind the film and hopefully make up for a new Helms franchise after The Hangover. We’re also hoping the rumblings are true and there’s a return to Wally World in the future.
