Jon Glaser Loves Gear, truTV’s upcoming hybrid comedy series starring Jon Glaser (Trainwreck, Parks and Recreation, Girls), premieres on Wednesday, October 26th at 10pm with two back-to-back episodes. And here’s your first look.
In the 10-episode first season, Glaser sets out to make a docu-series about his greatest passion: gear. Ironically, it’s this very obsession that continually threatens to derail the show, sending each episode spiraling off on deeply personal tangents. Starring alongside Glaser this season is John Hodgman (The Daily Show), Steve Cirbus (Delocated), Miriam Tolan and Eva Solveig in recurring roles. Guest appearances include Janeane Garofalo (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp); John Early (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising); Jo Firestone (The Jim Gaffigan Show); mixed martial artist Renzo Gracie; bass fishing champ Woo Daves; Former NHL All-Star and Emmy Award winning broadcaster Ron Duguay; Peter Grosz (Veep); and Robert Kelly (Louie).
Both an actor and writer, Jon Glaser got his start at Second City in Chicago. As an actor, film credits include Trainwreck, Sisters, Be Kind Rewind and Pootie Tang. TV credits include Delocated! and Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter, which he also created, co-wrote, and starred in; Parks and Recreation, Girls, Inside Amy Schumer, Louie and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and MTV’s cult comedy show Wonder Showzen. Cartoon voice work includes Bob’s Burgers, Archer, Lucy: Daughter of the Devil, TV Funhouse, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. He appeared as Video Cowboy in the ESPN web series Mayne Street, and he created, wrote, directed and starred in a series of web shorts for Comedy Central called Tiny Hands.
