Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue from the 95th Annual Academy Awards

March 13, 2023      Andrew Buss      Academy Awards, Jimmy Kimmel, News

Last night, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 95th Annual Academy Awards. It was the third time Kimmel took on hosting duties. And of course, people wanted to see how the “slap” from last year would be addressed. Kimmel naturally saved some time at the end of his monologue for it.

He joked about the “crisis team” that the Academy reportedly put in place. Just in case anyone wanted to “Get Jiggy with It,” Kimmel also introduced his own crisis team, that included Michelle Yeoh, Steven Spielberg, Pedro Pascal, and his ever-faithful sidekick Guillermo (not Del Toro).

Also during his monologue, he included jokes about Nicole Kidman and AMC, shouted out Pauly Shore – whose two co-stars from Encino Man were both up for and won Oscars, talked about the unlikely duo of Steven Spielberg and Seth Rogen, how Batgirl became “the first superhero defeated by an accounting department,” how James Cameron didn’t get a Best Director nomination, and Austin Butler’s performance as Elvis.
