A while back Larry King announced his intentions to begin a stand-up career upon his retirement from his talk show. Last night King showed he was serious about this as he stopped by The Tonight Show and told two jokes.
King stated he’s more a storyteller than a joke man. His stories include being on hand when the King James Bible was written and what he thought about witnessing the Declaration of Independence signing. I kid, I kid. Frankly, the jokes are pretty much what you expected to hear from the man, neither being originally his and has probably been told to you every holiday since birth by your crazy uncle or grandfather…which pretty much strikes me as the demo Larry King would go for as a stand-up comedian.
I didn’t see his monologue but I’m bettin’ Larry’s jokes were still better than whatever Jay had to say about Monica Lewinski, ’cause Leno is a timely man.
