This Week In Comedy: Get Him To The Greek, And Suck Some Biographies

Greetings comedy fans, unfortunately we have had to start out the week with some bad news about one of our favorite comedians Greg Giraldo being hospitalized. We know you will get better soon and to quote John from your Facebook fan page “Don’t be so fucking hip, Greg. Just because Lindsay and Paris are doing it… Get help, get better and make us laugh for another 30 years.”
That being said it is a crazy week for comedy with comedians either ball room dancing or doing guest appearances (on sitcoms or in front of Congress). The comedy flood gates are opening this week with the first batch of fall comedy releases on DVD.
Definitely check out Suck, it stars a ridiculous cast of Dave Foley, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, and Moby (the techno vegan not the whale) in a musical vampire horror comedy. If there was ever a sentences loaded with pure awesome that last one might have been it.
Also worth noting for any comedic intellectuals is the release of the Biography Networks bios of some of comedy’s most intriguing people. It may not have the laugh a minute thrills of Get Him to the Greek (which also drops this week) but nothing classes up your DVD collection more than wedging a sophisticated Biography disc in between you copy of Porky’s and Meatballs 2.
