This Week In Comedy: Stand-Up And Infiltrate

October 17, 2011      Matt Kleinschmidt      News

Things are pretty hectic this week as we’re spending our week running around the city attending events for the CMJ Music & Film Marathon. One of the latest edition to the event has been the uptick in comedy programming for the week. Which, if you are fans of both music and comedy like we are, it’s a pretty awesome fit into the field. In fact, you can read Comedy Central Insider’s story about the comedy programming during the Marathon. This is right on the heels of a good comedy representation at Comic-Con. What all of this means is that stand-up comedy is continuing its infiltration of all aspects of popular culture. Hell, it’s even helped entertain and inform during protest movements like Occupy Wall St. This all boils down to the fact that no matter where you are, some laughter and a bit of cultural insight is never a bad thing.
