January 7, 2015 Mark Says Hi! News, Television
After hearing that there might be a prequel mini-series of Wet Hot American Summer in the works at Netflix, yeah we freaked, just like we did with all of the rumors of a sequel film. Well it’s now been confirmed by Janeane Garofalo via Jeffrey Gurian at Interrobang.com that the mini-series is real and in production. She also confirmed that Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Ken Marino, Chris Meloni, Amy Poehler, Michael Ian Black, as well as herself are all coming back for the series. David Wain takes the helm again as both writer and director. This is awesome. It’s hard to believe it’s been 14 years since the original. And this prequel series will actually take place the first day of summer camp 2 months before the events of the original film. No announced release date yet, however, we’ll take “in production” for now!
