No I am not kidding, Will Ferrell, the guy behind anglo-centric hits like Anchorman, Talledega Nights, and Stranger Than Fiction has announced his next comedy will be called Case di Me Padre and be completely in Spanish. Yes, completely in Spanish, as in no English whatsoever.
Non-Spanish speakers needn’t worry though, since even though the movie will be in all español it will have English subtitles.
The director for Casa di Me Padre (which Google Translation tells me means “House of my father”) hasn’t been announced but it has been confirmed that it will be one of Ferrell’s partners from his humor website Funny Or Die.
This is a bold move for the comedian who has had some major flops in the past few years, namely Land of the Lost and Semi Pro, but if there is anyone in Hollywood with the huevos to pull something like this off, it’s Ferrell.
Do you think this is going to be the next big thing in comedy, or is this a failure waiting to happen. Post your comments and let us know!
