New York’s own Yannis Pappas is going to premiere his debut stand-up comedy album tomorrow and it appears he’s releasing it on a different kind of label as well. On a recent appearance on the Legion Of Skanks podcast, Pappas alluded to the idea that SiriusXM would also act as his label for the debut album, Let Me Be Yannis. If that’s the case, the satellite radio giant is dipping its toes into the comedy album game. Something that makes sense as SiriusXM has the reach and the comedy platforms to instantly expose talent to a comedy audience from the first spin. We’ll be tuning in.
A promo just hit the web with some more details about the release including a the album being played in its entirety at 4pm ET on Friday, April 14th on Sirius Raw Dog Comedy 99. It will follow Pappas delivering the Raw Report and making the intro to the album’s world premiere.
There’s no word on whether/when the album will hit retailers afterward but if we were betting people, we’d mark this as a probable sure thing.
