Comedian and actress Yvonne Orji, whose first stand-up special Momma, I Made It premiered on HBO last summer, has a new project to fall back on after Insecure wraps up.
It’s been announced that Orji is developing a new show for Disney+. Titled First Gen, the series is based on her life growing up a Nigerian immigrant in America, and trying to find a balance between honoring her parents and their culture and trying to live a more American life.
In addition to Orji, the series will also be executive produced by David Oyelowo and Oprah Winfrey. 20th Television will serve as the studio for production.
