  • Cool thing to buy this week: Mitch Fatel “Public Display of Perversion”

Mitch Fatel - Public Display of PerversionMitch Fatel returns with his new comedy album, Public Display of Perversion which just hit stores this week.

Seven years have passed since Fatel’s last comedy album, Super Retardo and 4 years since his last special, Is Magical. And if you’re thinking age and getting married has changed Fatel’s on-stage persona of a mumbling sex crazed prepubescent teenager, then you obviously don’t know Mitch Fatel. There’s still something entirely engaging about watching a grown man whispering, “I love breasts” and giggling incessantly. Public Display of Perversion is like you’re being transported to your 12-year-old middle school self and remembering how hilarious it was to start learning about girls and boobs and dick jokes.

On why it took so long to release the new album, Fatel addresses the wait through a post on his website. Read the rest of this entry

Cool thing to buy this week: Ray Harrington, “The Worst Is Over”

Ray Harrington - The Worst Is OverWant some good comedy to pick up this week? Try comedian Ray Harrington’s debut stand up album, The Worst Is Over.

A few months back we first told you about this New England native right as he was inking a stand-up comedy deal with Stand Up! Records and did you check out his comedy when we first told you? No? What the eff are you waiting for? Him to come to your place and perform in your living room?

Here’s what you need to know, Harrington has toured all over the place delivering some great observational stand-up comedy. In fact, Harrington is such a likeable comedian you want to root for him even when he has to handle some unruly crowds of bachelorette parties in the middle of his special which he recorded in Portland, Maine, not Oregon. Harrington handles plays the crowd like a fiddle, as his 6’7″ stature maneuvers the waters of relationships, travel, and what all of us coastal folk think about when they travel through middle America. Mitch Fatel jokes about a sexual encounter in this animated clip, “Candycane” (video)

Mitch Fatel just released an animated clip from his upcoming album, Public Display of Perversion. Fatel’s lovable demeanor often allows him to talk about pretty filthy subject matter like sex and the female anatomy. The clip, “Candycane” breaks down an awkward situation any man could find themselves in if it’s that time for a woman. You might not want to watch this if you are at work.

En, Garde! Eugene Mirman’s new comedy album is coming February 5th

If Eugene Mirman is good at one thing, it’s having the ability to find comedy in the mundane. It’s one of the most endearing things we like about his comedy and one of the reasons we’re excited to hear his latest stand-up comedy special will be available in a form where we can consume it more than the one time it aired on television.

On February 5th, An Evening of Comedy in a Fake Underground Laboratory will make its way to retail shelves in convenient CD/DVD form thanks to the folks at Comedy Central. Chris Hardwick and the art of the Mandroid

Mandroid SketchChris Hardwick will release his DVD and CD Mandroid this Tuesday.

The DVD will feature unreleased and uncensored material as the Nerdist himself breaks down the culture of geek while donning one of the shiniest suits he could find. One can never be too robot-y when they are talking about Mandroids. That’s what they say around these parts. And by “around these parts,” we mean in our basements as we fire up the old Joke-O-matic 2000. It’s a bit outdated a model but she’s paid for, and finances are tight these days.

A while back we got a sneak peek at the special’s album art in all it’s Robot-fighting-a-dinosaur-on-the-surface-of-the-moon glory. Just yesterday Nerdist.com posted drafts of the awesome art including early sketches of the art then as things transitioned from a headless robot, to fighting robots, to the bought with the dinosaur. It’s a complete transition. Read the rest of this entry
