The Laugh Button’s Year in Videos

January 1, 2014      Matt      Features, Year In Review       Comments

Year In VideosWe spent a lot of time out and about in 2013, and with it we usually had a camera with us. It allowed us to be present to capture many comedy moments on video.

We found ourselves at numerous festivals like Just for Laughs, South By Southwest (SXSW), New York Comedy Festival, or a normal night in the city. The common theme was simple, when you find yourself around comedians, it doesn’t take much to get a great story, joke or answer out of any questions you ask them.

Here are some of our favorite video moments of 2013.

The Laugh Button Inquisition: While on site at comedy festivals we took it upon ourselves to ask comedians fun questions about pranks, bombs, spirit animals, ridiculous laws, comedian stereotypes, historical a$$holes, ridiculous laws, and fighting other comedians to death. Nobody expects The Laugh Button Inquisition!

Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar revealed to us some details about the future of the Super Trooper’s and Beerfest sequels.

Big Jay Oakerson put on a show called, “What’s Your Effing Deal?” at New York Comedy Festival, he told us all about it.

Before the premiere of his new prank show on TBS, Theo Von told us what was the best prank he’s ever been a part of.

At Just For Laughs Chicago we asked Tim Meadows about the worst he’s ever bombed. He had a great tale.

We held recess at SXSW. While at SXSW in March we set up shop in an arcade bar right on 6th Street. So we invited some of our favorite comedians over for some interview. We talked with Big Jay Oakerson, Eugene Mirman, Andres du Bouchet, Nate Bargatze, Nick Turner, Mark Normand, a bunch of UCB performers, and Adam Cayton-Holland.

We spent 3 minutes with Iliza Shlesinger.

We heard from Gilbert Gottfried.

My Favorite Sketch: Over the course of the year we asked many comedians to tell us about their favorite sketch comedy moments. They responded with their best web, SNL, Chappelle Show, Derek Comedy, etc. clips.

Finally, why not cut a trailer for all the action?
