One of this week’s comedians premiering on The Half Hour is Erik Griffin. Many of you may already know Griffin as Montez Walker from the hit TV show Workaholics. But what you might not know is that Griffin is also a killer stand-up comedian and just released his debut album, Technical Foul: Volume One this past March. We also selected Erik as one of our 8 comedians to watch in 2013. Joining some other really stellar comedians. Here’s a clip from Griffin’s Half Hour which premieres this Friday, May 10th at 12 midnight. Read the rest of this entry

Kristen Wiig promos for Saturday Night Live are here, and it feels good

Kristen Wiig is set to host Saturday Night Live this weekend and the anticipation couldn’t be higher. First, she’s one of the greatest players the show has produced in its 38 seasons on the air. Second, it’s her first time hosting the show. Third, nearly every time a former cast member has hosted the show recently, it’s provided for some great and memorable nights, (see Amy Poehler, Dana Carvey, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, and Jimmy Fallon returns. Don’t see Will Ferrell’s most recent.) So strap yourselves in and watch Fred Armisen and Wiig rekindle the magic.

Kyle Kinane’s ‘Going Nowehere’ pilot is one of the funnest things you’ll watch this week

I’m really bummed to learn that Kyle Kinane’s pilot didn’t end up anywhere. Why? Because Kinane’s, Going Nowhere is a hilarious look at the human condition and one of the funniest videos I’ve watched in a long time. It reminds me a bit of when Insomniac with Dave Attell was still on the air mixed with some ridiculousness work of Dirty Jobs plus uncle BBQ hosting the entire thing and its a show I would’ve easily watched every episode of. The basic premise is this, Kinane travels around and links up with people in different locations across the U.S. to learn about some insane things they are into. Read the rest of this entry

Zach Galifianakis promos for Saturday Night Live

Zach Galifianakis is the first of the final group of three hosts of Saturday Night Live that will wrap up the show’s 38th season at the end of May. It’s a pretty stacked lineup which includes the return of the mighty Kristen Wiig next week and Ben Affleck the week after. Also what’s probably going to be great musical performances from Of Monsters and Men, Vampire Weekend, and Kanye West. They might’ve saved the best for last here folks. Let’s watch Galifianakis’ promos for this weekend’s affair. Let’s watch some goofabouts.

Amy Schumer dishes on relationships and previews a new show clip on ‘Conan’

Tonight Amy Schumer’s new TV show Inside Amy Schumer premieres on Comedy Central. So we’ll be seeing a lot of her this week as she makes the rounds to promote her new sketch comedy show, which looks hilarious and judging by the first episode the network put out for streaming online, we’re correct. Last night Amy was the guest on Conan and not only did she dish on her formerly dating a pro-wrestler, she also premiered a new clip from the forthcoming show called “Slap Chef” which is just what I need to help me lose weight. Even more interesting is “Sleep Gym.” Someone show me the sign up sheet for that place because I’m going to fill that thing out hard!

Mel JuddThe other day, Mel Brooks sat down with director/writer Judd Apatow for an intimate Q&A session with a live audience as part of SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series.

Featured on the limited-run channel “Mel Brooks Radio,” (which launched this weekend) the session was an interesting, casual look at Brooks’ long-lasting career. The Spaceballs creator discussed his most satisfying production, his argument of being the Quentin Tarantino of his day, and his funniest non-celebrity friend.

On the radio performance, “I grew up listening to the radio, so it holds a special place in my heart. I’m thrilled to be on SiriusXM and only wish I could have listened to ‘Mel Brooks Radio’ when I was a kid, but of course physics got in the way,” said Mel Brooks.

SiriusXM’s “Town Hall” series has featured previous intimate gatherings with iconic entertainment figures like Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Billy Crystal, and Dave Grohl. Read the rest of this entry
